In Support of NPRM 9208

I support Rulemaking Petition 9208 which proposes low power commercial broadcast stations.
Since the deregulation of the ownership rules, for the most part, many small town radio stations have had their transmitters relocated to serve larger adjacent cities and the studios moved to the cities in order to garner the larger advertising budget. With the exception of some of the larger AM outlets, almost no radio broadcast stations serve the "public interest ,convenience and necessity". The small stations that could not be relocated have become "translators" for an adjacent large station owned by the same group. ! have been involved in the broadcast engineering field since 1963 and I believe that the ownership deregulation destroyed radio as a public servant.  Allowing small stations to actually SERVE their communities would be the first step in putting radio back where it should be, serving the public, rather than the bank accounts of the large groups.
